New member. Here are my rides....
About me: 28, banker, live and work in San Francisco, CA. Passion for the automobile.

What you see here is my daily driver and my "project" car. The Pearl one is a 1988 Nissan 300ZX Shiro Special (SS). Rare car, only 1000 imported in 88. Currently has less than 100k on the odo. Exterior is totally stock. Interior features Recaro seats (stock), and a alpine deck and amp, infinity speakers (not stock obviously). For "mods," I have poly-urethane bushings, new springs, Bilstein shocks, Cusco strut tower brace. Engine is stock because I live in California and they are strict about that kind of stuff. Only thing I did was throw on a HKS exhaust which does not look/sound ricey at all. Has a deep burble that would make a V8 proud.

The BMW is a handmedown from a co worker. its She parked it for 2 years then offered it to me. Its a 1995 525i automatic (ick...) Olypics Edition. Has something to do with the 1996 Olympics. These were the last of the breed for this gen 5 apparently. I have not gotten it running just yet. Just changed the battery and oil (yes I can work on cars). Going to clean out the gas tank then fire her up and see what happens. Wish me luck on this one!

RE: New member. Here are my rides....
Welcome to the forum!

Since it was one of the last E34 5-series, I'm presuming the car is screwed together well, so hopefully it won't be much more work to get her running. Body and interior seem to be in good shape, and the original wheels are tasteful too IMO. Do you know what exactly distinguished the Olympics Edition?

I had never heard of the Shiro Special either, had to google that one. Apparently 'shiro' means white in Japanese.

Thank you!

special edition specific features...

BMW: Metallic green paint, 16" rims, rear head rests, green piping on tan leather, olympic badging around the car. Rumor has it these cars shuttled around VIPS during the games then were sold. Not sure if its true or not.

300ZX: Pearlescent paint, white wheels, special springs, sway bars, and shocks. Euro front airdam, Recaro seats, viscous LSD

That thing is just asking for a 100$ rattle can job. I am guessing you will be replacing the rest of the fluids belts etc. before you begin to mod it?

RE: New member. Here are my rides....
I have a friend with a body shop. He can probably have it resprayed for me for not a lot of money. And yes maintanence first. Not sure Ill mod it. I want it to be my cruiser. If something has to be replaced anyway, then yes Ill upgrade (stock shocks to Bilsteins, for instance).
