Yes, it does. Which is specifically why the new model has it. The original, on the other hand was a race car before it was a street car. The big monsterous grille served a purpose- to cool a car designed to be pushed to the limits every time it went out. Is this new street car intended to that end?
To me it seems they're just trying to recapture history. Maybe down the road I'll feel better about it, as I have with the MINI, the New Beetle, current Impreza, and several others. Right now, it just seems they're trying too hard to recapture a bygone era. To which I restate: Taste is subjective. It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow |
